Mr. Eliezer Olea

OTSS was founded by Mr. Eliezer Olea, A United States Marine and Law Enforcement Officer with the Mission to prepare citizens through high quality training designed to preserve life and protect their safety, and the safety of their communities.

Eliezer Olea currently serves both as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and as a full time Law Enforcement Officer in his local community. He has honorably served the United States and his local community the past 17 years

Prior to his career as a Law Enforcement Officer, Eliezer served as a middle school social science teacher and as a supervisor of a private security firm, where he led more than 200 employees simultaneously on shifts across the South Florida Tri-County area. Eliezer, served as the training Sergeant for Palm Beach State College, implementing the training and safety procedures across 5 campuses of the post-secondary institution. He conducting physical security assessments, and lead a team of campus security officers.

As a Law Enforcement Officer, Eliezer has served in several leadership roles across his local police department as a Road Patrol Officer, a Traffic Homicide Investigator, a School Resource Officer and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Technology Operator. During his law enforcement service he has completed courses in Criminal Law, is a certified  Field Training Officer, and also in Crisis Intervention Procedures. 

He has completed the following Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Independent Study Program courses: Introduction to the Incident Command System, National Incident Management System, Responding to an Active Shooter, Active Shooter Prevention, and Preparedness for Childcare Providers.

Eliezer enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 2006. Following the completion of Basic Training, he graduated from the U.S. Marine Corps School of Infantry – East where he completed the rigorous Anti-Tank Missile Assaultman course. In 2009, he was ordered to active duty and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  In 2013, after graduating from the U.S. Marine Corps Civil Military Operations School in Quantico, Virginia. In 2014, SSgt Olea served as a member of the 4th Civil Affairs Group where he deployed in support of Operation Tradewinds held in Dominican Republic: a multinational exercise along with partner nations in the Caribbean. In 2015, SSgt Olea again deployed to support Operation Continuing Promise where he served as a Civil Affairs Non-Commissioned Officer supporting the humanitarian operations in Dominica.

Eliezer currently serves as a U.S. Marine Corps Marksmanship Instructor. Eliezer’s Professional Military Education includes the Combat Life Saver certification, High Risk Protection Techniques, Instructor Development, Basic Instructor Skills, Range Safety Officer, Laser Range Safety Officer, and Joint Anti-Terrorism courses. He holds the Military Occupational Specialties of an Anti-Tank Missile Assaultman (0352), Civil Affairs Specialist (0532), Combat Marksmanship Coach (0933), and Combat Marksmanship Trainer (0931). He also holds the NRA Basic Instructor and Pistol Instructor certifications and Stop the Bleed instructor certification.

Eliezer is an accomplished competitive rifleman. His competitive experience includes High Power Service Rifle, Mid-Range Service Rifle, Long Range Service Rifle, 3 position Air Rifle, Precision Pistol, and Action Pistol disciplines. During his competitive career he has earned the prestigious President’s 100 during the National Rifle matches, 2 Bronze medals during the National Individual Trophy rifle matches, Top 25 Team finish during the National doubles match, a silver medal at the prestigious Inter-Service Rifle Championship Excellence in Competition match, multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals at regional Excellence in Competition Rifle Matches. Eliezer has been a coach and a shooting member of the 1st Place Post & Station Team at The Department of Defense Inter-Service Rifle Championship, 1st place other service / civilian rifle team at the Navy Atlantic Fleet Matches.

Eliezer holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Social Sciences, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with a minor in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University. As a student veteran, Eliezer served as the Vice-President of Florida Atlantic University Veterans Owls Organization.

His personal military decorations and awards include the Navy Unit Citation, Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal with 1 star, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with 1 star, Global War of Terror Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Hour Glass and M devices, Rifle Expert with 4th Award device, Pistol Expert with 3rd Award device, Meritorious Mast, and 3 Letters of Appreciation.
